Moo Madness
Moo Madness will be a fun, fast-paced, tournament style contest where every eligible entry that enters will be randomly selected to be placed in bracket. Example: if there are 100 entries for Moo Madness registered for the contest each one will be randomly pulled and assigned a number corresponding to their place in the bracket. The contest will be a blow and go show “no fitting allowed”. The entry fee to participate is $20/hd, no limits on the number of entries a participant can enter. All entries will go toward the NAJRAE with a split of 50% to operational expenses, 25% to the leadership fund and 25% to the scholarship fund. Each entry must be eligible and entered in the FUZION event in order to participate.
In each round the two animals and the exhibitors will take one lap in the show ring, come to a stand on the profile view where the panel of three (3) judges will signal their preference of the two animals in the ring. The winner receiving two or more votes move on to the next round and the other animal returns to the stall. No commentary will be provided from the judges. This will continue until there are only eight (8) animals remaining in the tournament.
Once the Top 8 are remaining, the judges will be escorted away from the ring where the eight animals will be auctioned for Calcutta. The winner bidder will have the option to select their choice of which animal will become champion. The bidding will continue until all of the Top 8 are sold. 50% of the money from the Calcutt Auction will go to the winner bidder, 15% will go to the champion heifer, 15% to the reserve champion heifer and 20% will go towards the NAJRAE scholarship fund. After the auction is concluded, the panel of 3 judges will return to the ring and the Top 8 will continue in 2 head face off until there is a determined winner and reserve. The champion will receive a special award in addition to their share of the Calcutta.
