The Dan Johnson Memorial Award was established by his family after a tragic accident on their farm in 2013 took his life. As the founders of NAJRAE, the Johnsons take great pride in helping juniors and watching as they become industry leaders. Dan especially understood how to get the most out of the exhibitors and pushed them to succeed. The selection of this recipient is based on one’s ability to lead and serve as an inspiration through their individual character, integrity, and trustworthiness.

Awards

  • The 17-21 division will receive the Dan Johnson Memorial Chair and $1,000.

  • The 16 and under division will receive $500.

Application Qualifications

  • Applicant must be an active member of NAJRAE since 2023.

  • Applicant must participate in the 2026 FUZION event with Cattle or Contest Only.

  • Applicant has not previously been awarded the Dan Johnson Memorial Award.

  • Applicant must be in one of the age groups as of January 1 of the show year: 16 years and under, 17-21 years

  • Applicants must fill out the application to be considered.
